Complicated is kind of a theme with me! Hehe Okay I spent the last decade and a bit of my life locked in a bunker, to protect both myself and those around me. I couldn't control my powers when I was little, and to be completely fair Jack didn't have many options when it came to dealing with that. So - he shut me away. Except I stayed locked away even after I grew into my abilities, so to speak. Initially I didn't complain - Pandora is a dangerous place - but things went a little crazy, I suppose. Or *Jack* went a little crazy. :P In its most simplified form: he wanted to wake an ancient monster known as the Warrior so that he could cleanse Pandora of bandits. To do that, he needed a catalyst to process all the eridium he was mining from beneath the planet's surface. That was my role. Or one of them, anyway. A living battery. The sheer volume of eridium I had to channel meant that I got dependent on it very quickly. I should probably note that it hurt. A lot. And I mentioned the regenerative properties of eridium, so you should understand that I was incapable of doing anything drastic to myself to end my torment. So. I enlisted the help of Jack's enemies and got them to cut off my supply.
But before you start fussing, don't!! I'm clearly fine now, and I don't need to be put on suicide watch whenever things get difficult. It was just my only option at the time. Even if I wasn't locked in, the dependency meant that I was stuck inside the bunker forever. Even killing Handsome Jack wouldn't have freed me, you see? So no fuss. If you fuss I'm going to kick your as rear end.
